About me…

My Name is Josh Burkhard and I enjoy many things, but at the top of my list are fishing and woodworking. I especially enjoy fly fishing but I live in New Hampshire so… I have some time during the winter (and spring) months to tackle woodworking projects until ice thaws and winter run off dissipates from the trout streams. Like most woodworking enthusiasts, my shop time was limited to weekends, and possibly a weeknight here or there so any finished products reflected countless sessions of incremental progress. I would always cringe when someone would suggest that I sell my products because there wasn’t a dollar amount high enough to balance out the time spent on the project- woodworking would need to be a hobby, not a living. My favorite projects were my fly boxes which I estimated required about 15 hours to complete so I would make a few each year as gifts for my friends but that was about all I could do with the time at hand.

Fast forward about a decade- I have a new, much larger shop in a renovated horse barn and my schedule is similar to a stay at home parent. I’ve upgraded my tools and honed my skills but most importantly I’ve surrounded myself with people who have been willing to share their expertise wherever needed.
